The Dirt
Netflix's The Dirt feels more like a collection of memorable stories than a cohesive film about how Motley Crue became one of the biggest bands of the '80s. The film is based on a book of the same name that is based on the history of the band. It feels like the writers skimmed through the stories and picked out the craziest ones to turn into a film.
The film is populated with drugs and sex that feels offensive at times. It tries to live up to the recent surge of films about musicians but it is just bland in every way. Even the moments that are supposed to be dramatic feel sped over. Overall it feels like one long, superficial music video that could have stayed a book.
