Sonic the Hedgehog: Emphasis on Caring for Others
Sonic gains a lot of attention for his power to run fast and must leave his home planet through the use of golden rings. The hedgehog finds himself on the planet of Earth in the small town of Green Hills, Montana. Sonic enjoys the little town and spends his time in an underground cave. Sonic also discovers humans and is very fascinated by them and their behavior. He watches them from afar.
Sonic struggles with being lonely. He wants to interact with the humans he admires so much, but he isn't sure how humans would react to him. Sonic's loneliness causes him to set off a major power outage that attracts the attention of the U.S. Government and the scientist Dr. Robotnik.
Sonic has a good heart and is filled with an energetic spirit. He helps those in need and appreciates all the little things in life. Throughout the film, the value of friendship and sacrifice for others is heavily emphasized through the plot and his actions. Sonic loves Green Hills but is willing to leave for another place that is unpleasant because he wants to protect the people he cares about. Sonic develops a bond with the local policeman. Tom, and helps Tom realize how important he is to Green Hills.
The film adaption of the beloved Sega character is a cute and light-hearted story. The story is fast and is filled with nice lessons about caring for others and being grateful for what you have. Overall it provides a fun time for those of all ages no matter if they are familiar with the beloved character or not.
