Hubie Halloween: Adam Sandler Warned Us

Adam Sandler warned us that if he wasn't nominated for an Oscar that he would make the worst movie ever. He fulfilled this with Hubie Halloween.

Hubie Halloween stars Sandler as Hubie. He is the target of pranks by everyone in the town of Salem. Sandler is mocked by people in every scene. It follows the Adam Sandler movie formula with an underdog as the main character and every supporting character played by his friends. The predictability of his movies lets viewers know that in the end Hubie will save the town and get the girl.

Sandler reunites with his ecosystem for a Halloween comedy about a guy that appoints himself as the Halloween monitor. He spends the holiday making sure kids aren't bullied but this attracts constant mocking to him.

The film suffers from pacing issues and a run time that is way too long. There are too many repeated jokes and the main character is obnoxious within the first 5 minutes of the film. Sandler is a comedian and it is hard to believe that he can't get the timing right in his movies.


Sandler has some great films and this is not one of those.
